Private quiet & cozy guesthouse located on a separate wing of the main house in Houston's Energy Corridor district. Your space includes a bedroom and full-bath located in a private upstairs with comfortable king size memory foam bed, sofa chair, TV/VCR (w/ VHS library access) and large work desk. You also have access to a private downstairs living area w/ half bathroom, dining table, couch, TV/VCR (w/ VHS library), coffee machine, microwave and toaster oven! Swimming pool in the backyard with BBQ pit! High-speed Wifi internet.
*There is also a single and queen air mattress available for extra guests upon request. A fifth guest may sleep on the couch in the living room.
*Shared kitchen is only available upon special request prior to your visit

Summary: Robert was the best! Great place to relax and feel like home rather than a busy hotel. We paid for kitchen use, which is a must.... not really a frig or anything in the guest house... but we grilled out by the pool and cooked a little. Small AC in living area doesn't cut it, so be prepared for the Houston heat when downstairs. Also be prepared to time travel, because the collection of VHS movies is legit!!

Summary: Can't write enough good things about this place, clean, tidy, spacious room and bathroom. The host was friendly, helpful, kind and unobtrusive. He let us use the kitchen to heat a couple of meals. This might not be needed for all, as there was a microwave in our own living/dining area, and a little toaster oven for heating any meals in foil/making toast. There was also a coffee maker and ice maker (for the summer). We didn't use them, but there was also a washer/dryer available to us. There was both air con and heating and parking available. We recommend getting a car, Texas is big and there is no real public transport system. As for Robert, the host, he's very relaxed and super responsive to texts etc. He's very kind and his manner is gentle and he has a great sense of humour. I felt super comfortable and safe on my own with him, even when it was late and my husband was out (that's especially noted for any ladies who might be worried staying in a place alone with a male host). He'd even provided shampoo/conditioner combo and body wash, as well as hand soap, towels, and loo roll. So you won't need to bring much here except yourselves. The house is within 10 mins of a variety of shops in all radius of directions. There are restaurants, malls and grocery shops all in that kind of driving distance, so easy to pop out and back if you need anything. We'll be back next year (or sooner for socials!) for the dance event we go to and we will look forward to booking with Robert again.
